Build LinkedIn engagement reports

Everything you need to setup reports, scoring, and notifications.

Introduction

Before you have the dataset from each weekly sync, you can get real value from setting up a few simpler reports and notifications. This guide suggests what to set up first.

You can see how your LinkedIn ads are performing in two places: inside Userled, and in your CRM.

In-app LinkedIn ad performance

For any campaign with LinkedIn distribution, the campaign Performance tab shows a full ad-performance view: impressions, reach, clicks, CTR, CPM, CPC, spend (shown as Total Spent), and engagements (shown as Total engagements), with per-account and per-creative tables. You can also break creatives down By Template or By Creative. See Monitor your experience performance.

Depending on the campaign objective, you may also see metrics such as leads, conversions, and video views.

Accuracy and syncing:

  • Lead counts use actual LinkedIn Lead Gen form completions, and rows link out to LinkedIn Campaign Manager.

  • LinkedIn data syncs daily. Until the first sync completes you will see a "not yet synced" prompt with a Sync Now action, and historic campaigns are backfilled from creation to now as a one-time sync.

In your CRM

You can also push LinkedIn ad engagement into your CRM and build reports there, using CRM workflows and Slack notifications for a regular sync.

  1. Create your own LinkedIn engagement score using impressions and engagements, along with company size, to build a scoring model like the one in the LinkedIn company engagement report.

  2. Set up tasks via HubSpot workflows once accounts reach a predefined threshold of LinkedIn engagement. Then set up Slack notifications via Userled so your sales team is alerted when their accounts interact with LinkedIn content or reach a threshold.

  3. Build a quick custom report based on 90-day properties to get an early indicator of deal influence after your first sync.

  4. Use companies as your primary source, with deals as secondary. Set your filter to ad impressions greater than X (start with 0), and open deals greater than 0 (or leave this to see all companies and deals). You will likely need to filter out renewals with a deal-pipeline filter. From here you can view by company, or as counts to see the number of influenced records.

  5. Integrating this data with your CRM and enabling automated notifications lets you track impact accurately, while giving your sales team the insights they need to turn content interactions into closed deals.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you will establish a strong foundation for reporting and scoring based on your LinkedIn engagement data.
