Setting Up Your Marketo Integration

When you integrate Marketo with Userled, you can create personalised outbound experiences based on Marketo leads and lists.

Setting up your API-only user

First, we'll need to set up a new role and user in Marketo.

  1. Log in to your Marketo instance as an admin and navigate to the "Admin" menu.

  2. Click on "Users & Roles" and then click "New Role" under the "Roles" tab.

  1. Type “Userled Role” for Role Name and assign “Access API group” for permissions. Click "Create".

  2. Go back to the "Users" tab and click "Invite New User". Fill out the following fields:

  • Email: userled+<your company name>@userled.io

  • First Name: Userled

  • Last Name: User

  • Roles and Workspaces: Userled Role (created above)

  • Make sure to check “API Only”

  1. Send the invitation.

Create a custom service for an authentication token

  1. Go back to the Admin menu and click on LaunchPoint from the left hand pane. Click "New Service".

  1. Fill out the following fields:

  • Display Name: Userled Service

  • Service: Custom

  • Description: This service is for Userled

  • API Only User: userled+<your company name>@userled.io

  1. Create the service and click "View Details". Take note of your "Client ID" and "Client Secret" - you'll need to enter these in Userled to complete the integration.

  1. Go back to the "Admin" menu and click "Web Services". Find the Endpoint in the REST API box and take note of it - you'll need to enter this in Userled to complete the integration.

Activate the integration in Userled

Once you've configured the above settings in Marketo, navigate back to the Userled app.

  1. Navigate to https://app.userled.io/integrations

  2. Click on the Marketo integration card.

  3. Enter your Client ID, Client Secret and Endpoint URL.

  4. Save your inputs and click “Enable” to enable to integration.

Track form submissions

If you use Marketo forms on your Userled pages, Userled can capture form submissions and tie them back to the account and campaign. Add the form using Marketo's HTML embed code so it can be tracked.

If your forms are hosted on another subdomain, reach out to your CSM to have this whitelisted by our CSP so that the form can render correctly on Userled Microsites.

Next Steps

Once you've set up your Marketo integration, you can go ahead and create outbound campaigns. Marketo will appear as a source during the target selection step. You will be able to select individual leads or lists.
